- Recognizing a patient in respiratory distress.
- A basic knowledge of what is involved when a patient requires intubation.
- The most common lethal cardiac rhythms and the initial treatment for each.
- The basics of Code Management to novice members of a potential Code team.
- To decrease anxiety and increase confidence when faced with an ICU emergency.
- Describe a patient in respiratory distress and the possible actions necessary.
- Identify what is needed to prepare a patient for intubation.
- Recognize the basic lethal cardiac rhythms.
- Know the basic supplies necessary to run a Code.
- Have a basic knowledge of the roles of those responding to a code.
